Sports performance and physical preparation have been Coach Cam’s passion since he was a youth athlete himself. Over the last several years, Coach Cam has worked his way across the sports performance community in a wide variety of different settings, training athletes of every level — from youth to professional.
As a young athlete with aspirations of playing collegiate baseball, Cam knew that what he lacked in natural athletic abilities, he would have to make up for with work ethic and preparation. When college coaches told him he was “too small” or had “too weak of an arm,” Cam dedicated himself to off-season training that would improve his performance on the field by increasing his speed, power, and strength. The hard work paid off when he committed to Lewis University to play baseball during his senior year of high school.
Over the course of his collegiate career, Cam’s love for the physical preparation sport demands outgrew his love for playing the game. He switched gears and immersed himself in the sports performance world, continuing his education and gaining practical experience in both private and team settings.
While he walked away from baseball to focus on his passion for athlete development, he didn’t walk too far: stepping in to train the Illinois Wesleyan baseball team, as well as other athletic programs at the university.
But Cam’s true passion lies in working with and developing youth athletes. Since the age of 15, it’s been Cam’s dream to open a performance facility in his hometown to help local athletes improve their performance and achieve their goals. Cam is driven to be the coach he wishes he had growing up: one that strives to develop athletes both on and off the field.
